When designing a toddler room, think outside of the box. Pick products that will compliment the space and products that are found at retail stores that you would actually shop in (and not just Babies R Us).
I’m designing Kelsey’s big girl room and have started looking for rugs at Urban Outfitters, pillows on Etsy, furniture at CB2 and local boutiques. Why the sudden spark in inspiration? I stumbled across this site, Lay Baby Lay.
Check it out, I think you’ll find a fresh perspective when designing your toddler room or nursery. Joni, the writer and style guru, creates inspiration boards with product links so you can easily find the items you love. Like this chevron rug, featured on the below inspiration board, I must have it.
I love the bright colors of this style board. But, my heart is still with the one above. I’m really into the mint/blue coloring on the wall. Will this inspire to me ditch pink and go mint? Only time will tell … I’m just getting my design hat on, as you can see.

Love this!! If I ever have a girl, I will reference this…or ping you! Thanks, great blog!
If you love the rug, as much as I do, my fabulous friend Britany just informed me that she has one VERY similiar in her living room.
She got it from here:http://www.rugs-direct.com/ShopDetail/Details/150172/Milliken/BlackandWhite/Vibe/TechnoBlack5
Thanks for sharing, Brit. xo
This is wonderful! I recently redid my son’s room. Check it out and tell me what you think:

Kelsey and I have such similar taste – it’s awesome! Ha. I looooove the mint (you’ve seen my house) and I adore the whimsical big girl feel for a little princess. Heck, I’d live in that room. p.s. my dresser is very similar to the one in the second photo as seen here: http://bockting.blogspot.com/2010/11/diy-necklace-boards.html
Can’t wait for the before and afters! xo
you could write an entire blog on how perfect your house is decorated.
