2011 was an amazing year for many reasons. With a little bug in the house, most of it was a blur – but a precious, fabulous and exciting blur. Here’s a few things we did this year: – we fought the croup and won! – we finished teething (for now) – boy was that tough […]
The Mommy Hat: Look at Frosty Go
Mommy and Kelsey. Dressing him with peanut/ buttons. She’s not 100% sold on why frosty’s nose is a carrot (can’t say I blame her) but she loved helping us build him. She’s almost 23 months old, which is almost two years (gasp!) and today, she built her first snowman. *ps. I know what you’re thinking … […]
The Wellness Hat: Aren’t Vacations the Best?
A vacation – even if it more like a staycation - revives your soul, doesn’t it? It does for me. Especially when you have your daughter and your husband in tow. We are really enjoying this cold, white stuff. What do ya’ll call it? Snow? Ryan and I haven’t seen snow in years, and for Kelsey […]
The Family Hat: To the Cabin to Find Snow
We drove up north and found snow! Over 3 feet of snow to be exact. The winter weather at our family cabin is amazing. On our way to this relaxing retreat we stopped at the Bison Ranch and let Kelsey play in the snow – for the first time, might I add! Her dad was showing her the ropes – complete with a massive snowball toss into the street (I think all men are still young boys at heart).

* i can’t wait to show you more photos of our winter weekend a little later. have a happy new year!
The Holiday Hat: Christmas Morning
Christmas morning was full of giggles, laughter, HUGE smiles and a little girl in a Hello Kitty nightgown who was overjoyed with the gratitude of Santa. Seeing her so happy made this mom and dad extremely happy. The night before, Santa asked us for a favor, and we obliged. He asked us to stay up […]
The Wife Hat: Mission Possible
We did it! We dedicated a vacation day just for us. Yesterday, we took Kelsey to school and then we indulged in an adult day complete with a mid-day movie (Mission Impossible 4) in the new fork & screen cinema. An all-day date with my husband … ah, just what the doctor ordered. *pardon the blurry photo. even the person […]
The Friendship Hat: Beena Comes to Visit
Sabrina, or “beena” as Kelsey says, came to visit us over Christmas. She’s my brother’s girlfriend – and became quite a good friend of Kelsey’s too. Sabrina – thanks for visiting us, for making the holidays extra special and for staying up late with me each night! These two girls are sitting the exact same […]
The Inspirational Hat: Motivational Monday
Oops. I almost forgot to post this. You know, being busy with the holiday and all. But, it’s very important we don’t miss a beat. Everyone needs a little inspiration, even if you are currently surrounded by holiday love. Enjoy! Images found on Flickr.
The Friendship Hat: Holiday Hike
This morning Jen called and asked, “Why don’t we take the kiddos hiking?” So, unshowered (sometimes that’s the best) and sleepy-eyed, we took the kids for an impromptu hike. The mountain was beautiful and the kids loved seeing each other. The sun was bright as could be, which is why we love our “winters” over here. Thank you for inviting us Barkers – I needed the extra cardio after the weekend we had!
The Family Hat: Our 2nd Christmas Card
It’s so cool to look at our holiday card last year and see how much she has grown. We’re having an amazing holiday over here, hope you are too. I gotta run, I think I hear Santa and his reindeer on our roof. So exciting! Merry Christmas to you!
