I think this is what parenting in the Digital Age will require. Remember when our parents threatened us with, ”You can’t go anywhere unless your room is clean”. Well … times, they are a changing, and I’m afraid to say I’ll probably have notes like this around my house sooner than later.
The Wife Hat: Mushy Stuff
It’s the modern-day version of taking your husband shopping. Only, instead of having him carry around your purse and wait while you try on shoes, he has to carry your camera case, coffee and wait for you to take the “this will be great on the blog” photos. I love this man.
The Family Hat: Weekend Weather
I’m hoping for storms this weekend. Hoping for a little respite from the heat so we can actually play outside again. We got a lucky two weeks ago and were able to sneak outside for an hour of playtime. Let’s hope this weekend brings more moments like these. People have actually asked if I curl her hair. […]
The Travel Hat: Totally Tourists. Seattle.
After being in Portland for four days, it was time to pack up and head to Seattle. We had a wedding to attend and we thought the drive up would be scenic. It was! We started our first day in Seattle at Pike Place Market for coffee and a little shopping. The line at Pike Place Chowder was too […]
The Music Hat: Folk? I Think.
There we are, walking around Pike Place Market when we hear this cool sound coming from the original Starbucks store. We stop. We listen. I take out my camera and try to get some video. I loved these guys! And, in true ‘where-is-my-brain’ fashion, I forget to write down the name of the band (shame on me). Whoever […]
The Travel Hat: Best Doughnut in Portland
I’m a little ashamed to admit it, but I went to Voodoo Doughnut in Portland not once, not twice, but three times last week. In my defense, I didn’t finish my doughnut either time. (That counts, right?) Anyway. I heard about this not-so-secret shop from friends and the concierge at our hotel, so we had to try it. I’m […]
The Friendship Hat: Vote by Friday!
Britany may have been runner-up to Danielle (snooze) but she’s still our HGTV Design Star Fan Favorite. Please take a moment to vote! You can vote for Britany Simon as a Fan Favorite until Friday, July 27th.
Oh, and check back here soon - I’m sure she’ll post the behind-the-scenes details from the show’s Season Finale Episode. This was a photo of us at last nights finale party. We were so stinkin’ proud of this girl!
The Foodie Hat: Breakfast in Portland
Mother’s Bistro is a darling little breakfast spot that we stumbled upon this morning. This Portland restaurant featured wood floors, rose-colored bench cushions, white cabinet doors, yellow vintage chairs and antique chandeliers overhead. I didn’t get any photos of food – mostly because I ate it so fast – but it was very good and the […]
The Working Mom Hat: Hi, from Portland!
Hi, from Portland, Oregon. My baby bump and I arrived on Monday for a Marketing Summit. Now that the conference is over, Ryan has joined us for a bit of sightseeing.
We just stopped back at the hotel so I could rest my footsies, then we’re off for a day of touring the city (and shopping)! Hellooo, no one informed me Portland doesn’t have sales tax. I don’t get why, but I’m not complaining.
The Friendship Hat: Final Two!
Britany made it to the final two on Design Star. Holy cow. We are all singing her praises over here. Are you watching the HGTV show? More importantly are you online voting? Please. Pretty please! Britany is a dear friend and we would love your support.
