Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! I’m thankful for all the good that God has put into this world. This video makes me smile and makes me remember that there is a lot of good to be had. Have a wonderful holiday. Eat lots of pie.
The Working Mom Hat: Sheryl Sandberg
She’s the COO at Facebook and a pretty inspiring speaker. I was watching her speak on TED and was pretty fascinated with what she had to say. For all of you ladies in the work force, I thought you might like this too. It’s 15 minutes and worth the watch.
The Music Hat: Folk? I Think.
There we are, walking around Pike Place Market when we hear this cool sound coming from the original Starbucks store. We stop. We listen. I take out my camera and try to get some video. I loved these guys! And, in true ‘where-is-my-brain’ fashion, I forget to write down the name of the band (shame on me). Whoever […]
The Parenting Hat: Kelsey’s Pledge
Kelsey has a holiday message for you all: Here she is saying the Pledge of Allegiance in honor of our Independence Day. You may need to turn up your volume (I couldn’t get too close for fear of getting wacked in the head by her flag).
The Fashion Hat: 25 Ways to Wear a Scarf
Here’s a fun video for the weekend: 25 ways to wear a scarf. I loved watching it and learned a couple new tricks. Look out for them this winter! Have a wonderful weekend full of pumpkin carving, Halloween parties and lots of calorie-free chocolate candies.
The Working Mom Hat: “No Work!”
Sorry, boss. But this is why you see me sprinting into work some mornings. Little Miss Big Lips doesn’t like to see me leave. Some mornings, it’s “bye, mommy” and some mornings it’s, “no work!”.
The other day we were having a “no, no, no” morning where every question ended in “no.” She didn’t want to see me leave. She insulted my choice in outfit (rude!) and made cute little cries that me made stay longer. She has me wrapped around her fingers. TGI weekend!
The Mom Hat: Seeking Solace in Bowling
When a child isn’t kicking, screaming or throwing a tantrum, they are actually quiet serene. Last weekend I watched as Kelsey “bowled” outside. We stayed in my in-laws backyard until the stars came out with a toy bowling set. Kelsey had more fun putting the pins in order than she did knocking them down. I sat nearby and watched […]
The Inspirational Hat: Motivational Monday
Say something nice today. Pass it on.
The Girlie Hat: Playing Hair Salon
I wish this video was longer to show you how much fun Kelsey and I had last night. We were jamming out to a toddler music CD when she decided to do my hair.
Dad grabbed the camera, but we were only able to capture 49 seconds of footage. Oh, how I love these moments. At the end, she pushes me to face-forward. Did you catch that bossy move?
Turn your music up and jam out with us!
The Mom Hat: I Hope She Doesn’t Mind
I hope when Kelsey grows up, and sees this blog, that she doesn’t mind how much I’ve expressed my joy for her in writing. I recently heard Ellie Goulding’s rendition of “Your Song” by Elton John and I thought: this is it! This is exactly how I feel. You saw this blog post, right? This song […]
