I started redesigning my home – room by room – to make it feel more like ‘us’. The kids’ playroom is next so naturally I have been scouting different places to get artwork for the blank walls. Sure, I could go to Target and spend $17 on a nice print – but there’s something so special about ordering from independent artists.
I think that’s why I love Minted Art so much. You can customize your own prints, shop by artist or style, or just browse their website for inspiration. That’s what I did. And I landed on these birthstone prints. September, February and December. Done. Done. And done. I’ve had my eye on them for a while and I’m glad I finally ordered them. Check out Minted.com, you may find some great art for your home too.
Before you purchase, check out Minted Offers because you can always find great deals. Happy shopping (and decorating)!
They say you learn something new every day. Well, yesterday I learned that Santa Fe, New Mexico is a lovely place. A place that is filled with so much history, so much art and surprisingly so much to do. I flew in for a business meeting at La Posada de Santa Fe resort and then toured the Four Seasons Santa Fe resort as well. Both properties were beautiful in their own right.
La Posada sits 2 blocks from the Historic Plaza and within walking distance to the towns great restaurants and shops. If only I had more time explore the sights, I would have gotten better photos than my iPhone images below. But, I will be back. I think I’ll plan a trip there in a few weeks and spend more time seeing the city.
Expect more stories and pictures to come. In the meantime, consider planning a girls getaway to Santa Fe this June (when the Santa Fe Opera is in town). The spas, the dining, the architecture and the art … I promise you won’t be disappointed. Here is what I would do if I had more time:
- Spend the night at La Posada de Santa Fe resort
- Indulge at a spa treatment at Ten Thousand Waves
- Shop and walk the Historic Plaza
- Visit the St. Francis Cathedral Basilica (built in 1886)
- Admire the art that is found along Canyon Road (Santa Fe art district)
- Get tickets to the Santa Fe Opera (June – August, outdoor venue)
- Grab a cocktail at Coyote Café (ask for bartender, Quinn)
- Watch the sunset at Terra Restaurant inside Four Seasons Santa Fe
- Find a way to tour Georgia O’Keeffe’s home
- Hike, relax, shop, drink, dine, repeat
Here are some photos (from my iPhone) of La Posada resort; it’s beautiful.
Ristras, or strands of chilies are a sign of hospitality. So it was only fitting that they were located everywhere on the outside of the resort.
Sorry, it’s been a while since I did a Motivational Monday post. Mostly because I was lacking a little inspiration myself. But I saw this print and just had to bookmark it. It’s so true!
In the blogger community, it’s easy to look at another lifestyle blog, another cooking blog or even a wedding blog and think – “Why can’t I ….”. Well, enough of that. Just be yourself. Who cares if you have 1 follower or 1 million, as long as you’re being true to yourself and writing what you feel.
There are many things that inspire me – one of them is fashion photography. I want to introduce you to a photography blog that I read. Well, I can’t read the words in this blog because the writer blogs in Portuguese (I think). But, the photos speak loud and clear. Without words, this is a blog that inspires me with its images. All of the photos are from here. Enjoy!
