O’ Christmas Tree, O’ Christmas Tree

Ugh. Now that song is stuck in my head. Oh well. A few weeks ago (see how behind I am at life?) we went shopping for the perfect Christmas tree to grace the Cross household this year. It was Nolan’s first time, so everything about it was exciting.

Earlier in the day we had Colton’s birthday party and one of his best friends gave him this superman shirt. It comes with fake muscles and a cape. Needless to say, it’s what he wanted to wear to the Christmas tree lot. We’re picking our battles over here, so we let this one go. It sure did look cute on him though.Except for the bolt of energy it gave him in thinking he could ‘fly’ through the trees. Also … how old does Kelsey look lately? Time needs slow down a bit.

Only 2 more days until Christmas!!! I can hardly wait.

Christmas Trees and Eskimo Kisses

We did it. We cut down our first Christmas tree. Let me rephrase that. Ryan and my father-in-law cut down our first Christmas tree. Kelsey and her cousin went with them and picked it out. I told Kelsey to look for a tree that was tall, was green, and was bushy. So she did!

Colton and I didn’t go with them because it was 30 degrees. To Colton that’s like a million below freezing so my mother-in-law and I stayed behind. Kelsey was so proud of this tree. It’s not as full as what I’m used to, but she was so proud of her selection that it made me so happy to display it.

We’re up for this adventure again next year. Only if Colton and I get to go.

Making Memories on the Mountain

Every day is special with two little kids in tow. But, the holidays … those are amplified. We get to make new traditions and memories with every year. This year, we decided to go find our own Christmas tree. So, away we went to the mountain to play in the snow and find the perfect tree to call our own.

The Family Hat: Baby’s 1st Christmas Tree

It’s baby’s first Christmas tree!
.
For the third year in a row, we bought our Christmas tree from a family owned farm down the road. Last time we were there … well, read all about that trip here. This time, it was smooth sailing. We showed baby around the entire tent of trees – there had to be hundreds of them! She loved touching the trees with her little bitty hands. And watching the other families run around the tent looking for their perfect tree. She picked this one out herself (with a little help from dad). Here’s a little glimpse into our trip.
