Have you been into T.Madison before? It’s a darling little shop on Chandler Blvd and it has so many cute trinkets. The merchandising alone is reason enough to swing by. Plus, it’s located inside FOUND, a super cute furniture store, so you kind of get two-for-one. I had about 45-minutes of free time yesterday so I swung by the shop and picked up Kelsey’s birthday present (well, one of them). A little, dainty gold necklace with a faux diamond. It’s perfect because on February 10th (the day after her birthday) she’s going to a Daddy/ Daughter dance at her school. I hope she’ll want to wear her new necklace. And if not? I’ll take it for myself. ha!

If you’re in Scottsdale this weekend, visit the Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market – it’s a fabulous traveling market – filled with over 170 vendors selling handmade or vintage finds. They have booths upon booths of creativity just oozing out of this place! My business partner at SEE IT SIDEWAYS and I have a passion for supporting small businesses with big dreams and incredible talent. There was no shortage of them here. Check out some of our pics.

Just as we were about to leave, I ran into one of my FAVORITE colleague’s from Starwood Hotels AND my brother’s childhood friend Ike Davis whom I haven’t seen in over 10 years. I love when the universe works like that.

One Kings Lane: Stationary Stamp Sale

… Only a few more hours to buy!

My sister-in-law bought me a custom return address stamp for Christmas and I use it all of the time (Except when I mail in bills. They get ugly gold return address labels).

Well, right now there is a Paperfinger sale at One Kings Lane. You can purchase calligraphy return address stamps for $48. Plus, if you purchase today (8/21) you get an additional 15% off. Add a special touch to letters, cards and more with a beautiful custom calligraphy return address stamp.

Check out the sale here. Sale ends 8/23.

If you’re new to One Kings Lane, consider yourself (and your wallet) warned.

The Mommy Hat: Can you spot baby?

Kelsey and I took a little trip to Costco. Little did I know she would blend in with the baby dolls. The wall of baby dolls, rather. If you’re wondering, we bought her one. She gets it for Christmas. Shhh …

The Fashion Hat: How to Pronounce Ralph Lauren

Are you ready for a random fashion fact? I used to work for Michael Kors, so you can quote me on this: The way you properly pronounce Ralph Lauren is to say Ralph Lore-IN. Just like a girl’s first name (my sister-in-law’s name, to be exact). You do not pronounce it Lor-WREN, as in Sophia Loren the actress. I feel like it’s my fashion duty to tell you this.
.
Why did I think of this? Because my brother bought Kelsey these adorable Polo shoes from Zappos.com. She is about the outgrow them and I love them so much, I was browsing online to buy a new pair. Yes, this is how my mind works.

The Holiday Hat: A Holiday Note from Nordstrom

In our house, we are “arguing” about the early celebration of Christmas. The weather is getting colder, the radio stations are playing holiday tunes, and I believe it’s time to start pulling down fall pumpkins and start putting up red, green and silver holiday decorations. My husband think it’s “too early”.
.
Well, today we took a little trip to the mall. Kelsey stayed with Grandpa while we splurged on two hours of alone time. As we drove up to the shopping center, we noticed the big jingle bells and red ribbons drapped on the exterior parking lights. Shopping bags were red and white, store signs read Season’s Greetings, and Santa was sitting in his house next to Macy’s.
.
I was winning the argument.
.
Then, we arrived at Nordstrom. As we walked towards, arguably, the best department store in the shopping center – we stopped to read a giant sign that hung in the window. There it was: a holiday note from Nordstrom to us. The large sign took over their entire storefront window display. There were no mannequins. No merchandise. Just this sign.
.
It read:

.
Thank you, Nordstrom. I officially lost the argument.

The Wife Hat: Pick a Baby Gate, Already!

My husband isn’t an impulsive shopper. He has to research the item that he wants for weeks before he makes a decision. He is now researching the perfect baby gate – in the meantime, we are using a baby bouncer, an ottoman, pillows, a large sombrero and an outdoor chair to fill the void. Sometimes I wish he was a bit more impulsive of a shopper. Just pick a baby gate, already!
