The 1st Time Mom Hat: Birth Clubs

I’m in a club. I was hesitant at first. But, I’m in.
.
Months ago, I went to Baby Center and joined the February 2010 Birth Club. I have to tell you – this club was a lifesaver for me during the first months home with baby. Here’s how it works: You sign up for a free profile on BabyCenter.com and then click the “Community” tab. From here, you can join a Birth Club, based on the month your baby was born. This is basically an online discussion board, but everything (mostly everything) people write about surrounds topics that are of huge relevance to you. Everyone in your Birth Club has a baby born within 30 days of yours. It was a great sounding board for me, and a great resource to turn to, in oder to reassure myself that I wasn’t going crazy and what I was experiencing was “totally normal”.

If you’re having a baby, and you’re clueless as to what to expect (like I was/am), I would suggest you join the club. It sounds dorky at first, but you’ll be hooked.
