I love people who instruct me to “have a schedule and all will be well”. Ha! Of course, we parents have schedules. We live by them. The only thing is, we have to be able to keep our calm when things don’t go according to plan. Case in point: You’ve planned a weekend away with your friends and your baby gets sick or your babysitter cancels. Enter, plan B. You’re at work and your computer crashes (my morning). Plan B. You have to cancel all morning meetings because you sat in the hospital all night with your sick baby. Plan B.
Lists, schedules, plans. Yes, they make life a little less crazy – but don’t go nuts when you can’t stick to them. Because, as parents, everyone knows … the kids’ schedule runs the show. Stop, breathe, smile, pray and go on to plan B … or even plan C. And yes … you can do it! Promise.
