The Travel Hat: Starwood Ski Resorts

I recently acquired a new set of properties, some of our ski resorts. I’m putting together marketing plans and getting ready to launch a few winter campaigns. Typically, I would prefer the beach over a cold mountain for a family vacation, but I have quickly changed my mind. Just look at these places? They are on my list of hotels to visit with Kelsey and Ryan.

The St. Regis Aspen Resort – Just look at how beautiful this hotel is. Pair its great location with the fact that it’s a St. Regis and you know you’re in for a superior visit. They also have a new dining concept called Chefs Club by FOOD & WINE. If you are a wine or food connoisseur, this is for you.

The St. Regis Deer Valley (Park City, Utah) – Can’t you just picture yourself here? I can. Sitting by the first, roasting s’mores with a cup of hot chocolate. Plus, this resort features a private ski beach, split-level infinity pool, J&G Grill and a world-class Remède Spa. A lot of my friends have gone and said this is a great resort to take your kids. All the kids love the funicular that you ride to get to the lobby.

The Westin Riverfront Beavercreek Resort & Spa (Avon, Colorado) – This resort is a SPG member favorite. Have you been? All I want to do here is sit in the lodge, overlooking their amazing mountain views and then spend my days at Spa Anjali. Kelsey would love their Kids Club too. And once I crawl into a Westin Heavenly Bed, it’s really hard to get me out.

Sheraton Steamboat Springs (Steamboat Springs, Colorado) – I know a lot of people who ski Steamboat Springs and love this hotel. This mountain is known for its “Champagne Powder”, plus this is a ski-in/ ski-out resort. This hotel would also be great to visit in the fall to see all of the leaves change colors.

The Westin Snowmass (Snowmass, Colorado) – This hotel used to be the Silvertree Hotel but Starwood got its hands on it and transformed it into a beautiful Westin. You can’t stay until December of this year, but to be one of the first to experience it? Sounds amazing!

Right next door is the Wildwood Snowmass Hotel – new to Starwood as well. This hotel is taking reservations in December as well and is supposed to be a “boutique-like” lodge in the middle of Snowmass.

Alright, that’s it. I sold myself on a ski vacation next year.

    1. Oh, I will! I think I’m making a visit to St. Regis Deer Valley before it snows this year, so I will keep you posted on how it goes.
